Viridor reveals 13% increase in profits for 2008/09.UK

Viridor's pre-tax profits grew by 13% in 2008/09, despite the amount of waste the company landfilled and its profits from the sale of recyclables falling as the economic slowdown hit in the second half of the year, it emerged today (June 2).
Preliminary results published by the waste management company's parent firm, Pennon Group, show that Viridor's profit before interest, tax and amortisation of intangibles (PBITA) was £65.5 million for 2008/09, compared to £58.1 million - a rise of £7.4 million.

The Hyderabad-based IVRCL Infrastructures and Projects has achieved a 35 per cent growth and became a $1 billion company with a turnover of Rs. 4,983 crore in 2008-09 against Rs. 3,698 crore in the previous year.

Transurban has strong 2008H2, ups toll $s and profit despite economy. Australia
Australian/North American toller Transurban reported strong toll revenues and earnings in the second half of 2008 despite the economic slowdown. Toll revenues increased nearly ten percent from 2007H2 to US$524m/yr (A$416m for the six months with A$=63c, most subsequent numbers are A$). EBITDA was A$297m up 11.6% on the prior corresponding period (pcp) and cash flow rose 33% to A$138m, it reported to the Australian Stock Exchange. The company says it is raising capital at attractive rates.
