The Supreme Court has directed National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to consider the bids of eight companies, instead of six for allotment of tender for development of Hyderabad-Vijayawada section of the national highway (NH 9) in Andhra Pradesh. A bench comprising Dr Justice Arijit Pasayat and Mr Justice Asok Kumar Ganguly issued the directions for considering the bids made by eight companies for allotment of tender relating to design, engineering, construction, development, finance operation and maintenance of Hyderabad-Vijayawada section of the national highway (NH 9) in Andhra Pradesh. The consortium has so far paid Rs 11 crore to the state at the time of the signing of the concessional agreement in September last year, and has given a bank guarantee of Rs 60 crore.
