The £50m Liverpool Library PFI deal has chosen Inspire Partnership to rebuild the historic building.
Inspire Partnership emerged ahead of its rival Information Resources and two other groups who fell by the wayside earlier in the process were Community Solutions and Kajima Partnerships/Carillion.

Rok team wins Oldham housing PFI.UK
A Rok- consortium will be named as the preferred bidder for £131m Gateways to Oldham social housing PFI scheme.
Inspiral a consortium comprising Regenter, Manchester Methodist Housing Association, and Rok seems to have beaten the Solutions for Oldham consortium in the race with the third consortium Inspirit dropping out in 2008.

The government has launched a consultation on the first of five proposed PFI prisons, on the site of the former Runwell hospital in Essex.
Public views will be sought on plans to build a 1,500-capacity jail as part of a wave of new facilities intended to cope with prison overcrowding in the UK.

Sources say only two groups now have any chance of booking in for a revamped £50m PFI library deal in Liverpool.
The scheme, involving the rebuild of the city's historic Central Library, will now be contested by Inspire Partnership (Shepherd/Babcock & Brown) and Information Resources (Kier/Land Securities Trillium).

The future hospital of the McGill University Health Centre will definitely be built as a public-private partnership, executive director Arthur Porter insisted Tuesday evening.
The provincial government has been seriously considering taking over the MUHC project from the private sector. Health Minister Yves Bolduc’s press attaché told The Gazette two weeks ago that the public-private partnership model – known as a PPP or P3 – might be abandoned if “it’s not in the interest of taxpayers.”

Defence officials have started the process of qualifying developers to build an 890,000-square-foot building in Gloucester for Canada's national cryptologic agency.
Solicitation documents show the building will be slightly smaller than the 22-storey L'Esplanade Laurier office tower. However, zoning restrictions on the 89-acre, Crown-owned greenfield property at Blair and Ogilvie roads will prevent the new headquarters for Communications Security Establishment Canada from being a tall tower.

The Rochdale Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme is a part of the UK Government's GBP55bn BSF programme, the company stated.
LEP consists of Rochdale Borough Council, Building Schools for the Future Investments LLP (BSFI) and Carillion, which will build either build of refurbish 13 schools in three phases within a 4-year period.A

The Government has set out proposals to start new Building Schools for the Future programmes in 18 more local authority areas over the next nine months, at a value of almost £1 billion.
Regions that will be first to benefit from the building boost include Barnet, Bolton, Hampshire, Peterborough, Sunderland and Wigan.

Three groups of companies have been asked by the Alberta government to submit proposals as to how they would build and maintain 10 new elementary and junior high schools.
Provincial officials said Thursday that companies involved in the Alberta Public Private Learning Excellence (APPLE) Group, Build II Learn and Plenary Lend Lease (PLL) Education Alberta, have all been asked to come up with detailed proposals by March 2010 as to how they would pursue the projects and how much they would charge the province.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has floated a tender to lend its six-storyed building in Kothrud to a private body for starting a 45 bed
hospital. The project will be on a build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis and will be given to a contractor for a period of 10 years.
