Linking to the rest of the world is increasingly a priority for Doha, with lucrative infrastructure contracts drawing contractors to Qatar.
Infrastructure appears to be the name of the game in Doha. Still buoyed by considerable oil and gas revenues, the Qatari capital is increasingly looking at ways in which those revenues can be used for projects providing greater access to the rest of the world.

The Rochdale Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme is a part of the UK Government's GBP55bn BSF programme, the company stated.

Carillion, the listed construction group, will raise up to £100m by selling equity stakes in a range of public private partnership (PPP) contracts, including spy centre GCHQ.
The Dutch Infrastructure Fund, which raised €200m (£172m) for investments last year, and rival Innisfree are among potential bidders. The stakes within the portfolio might be sold piecemeal because in some there are joint-venture partners that have first right of refusal.

Carillion and its joint venture partners in the Local Education Partnership (LEP), have been appointed as the preferred bidder for the £500 million Durham Building Schools for the Future programme.
The LEP, comprising Durham County Council, Building Schools for the Future Investments LLP and Carillion, will deliver over 40 schools in four distinct Waves over the 10-year contract period.
