The Pacific Investment Management Company, widely known as PIMCO, has launched a new emerging markets and infrastructure bond fund, the company said Monday.
The aim of the fund is to capitalise on an expected increase in investment spending by developing nations, which PIMCO reckons could total more than $1 trillion.

Macquarie International Infrastructure Fund Limited (MIIF) (MIIF.SI) said on Monday it has agreed to sell 71.6 percent of its interest or a 4.5 percent stake in Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund (MEIF) to a number of investors for S$132 million ($94.62 million).

Canadian governments looking for funding to boost their public-private partnership infrastructure efforts have until Oct. 30 to apply to a new federal fund for help. PPP Canada, a federal organization, launched the P3 Canada Fund in September as part of a $1.2-billion mandate the group has to support the P3 or alternative finance model in infrastructure projects in Canada.

Actis, the private equity group specialising in emerging markets, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $750m (£471m) for a new infrastructure fund to invest in power and transport assets in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
The fund is 40 per cent smaller than its initial target of $1.25bn, underlining how investors are pulling back from new infrastructure funds after suffering heavy losses in the asset class during the credit crunch.

A New Zealand fund that will use private capital to help fund public infrastructure works has signed up the state pension fund as its first investor, the manager of the fund said on Thursday.
The New Zealand Superannuation fund will contribute up to NZ$100 million ($66 million) to a fund with an initial investment limit of NZ$500 million, to be managed by infrastructure investment firm HRL Morrison and Co.

Singapore's state investor Temasek TEM.UL is in talks with a unit of Bank of China (601988.SS) (3988.HK) to launch a $1 billion to $2 billion investment fund to focus on fast-growing infrastructure projects across China, sources said on Thursday.
Talks between Singapore's sovereign wealth fund and BOC International, the investment banking arm of Bank of China, were in the early stages but both had agreed on the general idea of the fund plan, said the sources, who had direct knowledge of the plan.

Infrastructure Development Finance Company (IDFC) will complete the process of raising funds for its India Infrastructure Fund (IIF) in a fortnight, said Vikram Pant, managing director, IDFC Project Equity, which manages the fund.
IIF, which currently has a corpus of $925 million, is eyeing the $1 billion mark. "But even if we don't reach that figure, we will close the fund in two weeks," said Pant. He said IIF is neck-deep in investments and doesn't want to focus on fund-raising now. Pant had earlier told DNA Money, "There is so much more value now in investing than in raising funds."

THE wind-down of Babcock & Brown's assets continued with the sale of its stake in an unlisted North American infrastructure fund and the management rights it had over the business.
The B&B management team that ran the fund will move to the new operators, John Hancock Life Insurance, who backed what was in effect a buy-out of the existing arrangement.

Scheme's preferred bidder successfully secures entire funding without recourse to PFI rescue fund
Funding for the £5bn M25 road-widening scheme has been secured without recourse to the government's new £2bn PFI rescue unit, and the deal will be signed within the next month.
The preferred bidder, Connect Plus, which has contracted Balfour Beatty and Skanska to carry out the £1.2bn road-widening works, has now told the government it has approval from lenders for more money than is required.
