The PFI scheme, on which Triskilion was appointed preferred bidder in March 2005, was cancelled in July 2007 after a long-running wrangle over costs.

The £50m Liverpool Library PFI deal has chosen Inspire Partnership to rebuild the historic building.
Inspire Partnership emerged ahead of its rival Information Resources and two other groups who fell by the wayside earlier in the process were Community Solutions and Kajima Partnerships/Carillion.

Consortium also including John Laing takes multimillion-pound claim over scrapped Leicester scheme to the High Court
A consortium including Laing O'Rourke and John Laing has launched a legal battle to reclaim millions of pounds in costs over the scrapped £711m Leicester Hospitals PFI scheme.
The Triskelion consortium, which also includes Serco and Portfolio Solutions (Northern Ireland), has lodged a claim in the High Court against the Department of Health and University Hospitals of Leicester National Healthcare.

Two rivals will now lock horns for a £230m Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project in the East Midlands.
Derby City Council has pared the contestants down to Vinci Education and Balfour Beatty.
The news means expulsion for a third bidder, Galliford Try.

HSBC Infrastructure (HICL.L) said on Monday it plans to raise new capital to pay down debt and help fund potential deals it is considering.
The listed infrastructure fund said it plans to issue new C shares via a placing and offer for subscription. Collins Stewart and Oriel Securities will act as joint placing agents, the company said.

The Essex Waste Partnership has today (October 29) been awarded £100.9 million in PFI funds by Defra for a residual waste treatment project based around proposals to develop a 350,000 tonne-a-year capacity mechanical biological treatment (MBT) facility.
The partnership will create a real incentive for the local authorities and industry to work together to reduce waste
Dan Norris MP The partnership - which is made up Essex county council, 12 district councils and Southend-on-Sea borough council - has already secured a site for the facility to be built on Courtauld Road in Basildon, with appropriate planning permission.

A Rok- consortium will be named as the preferred bidder for £131m Gateways to Oldham social housing PFI scheme.
Inspiral a consortium comprising Regenter, Manchester Methodist Housing Association, and Rok seems to have beaten the Solutions for Oldham consortium in the race with the third consortium Inspirit dropping out in 2008.

North Yorkshire and City of York councils have become the latest local authorities to admit that the economic downturn has contributed to a delay in the procurement of their PFI waste contract.
The councils, which received £65 million in PFI funds to jointly procure waste treatment infrastructure more than two years ago (see letsrecycle.com story), had hoped to invite final tenders from the two remaining bidders for the 25-year deal in December 2008
