Marxist economics has a basic principle, that “prices are formed in the commodity markets”. Since Marxists don’t regard services as being of any real value, they don’t have a theory about where prices are ‘formed’ for services. Nor, it would seem, does the Road Transport and Highways Ministry.
It has been tying up itself into all kinds of knots over toll rates. The latest confection has been served up at the Allahabad bypass on the National Highways network.

Local officials are no more sure than anyone else in Texas on what to make of Monday night's meltdown in Austin, in which lawmakers managed to schedule the state Transportation Department for termination by 2010.
"You ask me where we stand in terms of transportation in the state of Texas? I can't tell you. I don't know," said Michael Morris, transportation director for the North Central Texas Council of Governments.

PLANS to introduce a public-private partnership (PPP) policy are at an advanced stage as the Government moves towards attracting long-term investments in infrastructure, finance state minister, Fred Omach, has said .
Omach said the Privatisation Unit (PU) had supported government agencies and would assist in building capacity in the implementation of such projects.
